JAMBO 2015 - St Louis June 4-7

Chad Brey WON !
I didn't see the scores, but a couple climbers told me Sunday morning, that he had so many points, that he couldn't be beaten (unless DQ'd; & he did not)

I don't tend to exaggerate ........................
The climbers, the venue, Jambo 2 entertainment, food service, etc were ALL spectacular ! ! !
Jambo 2 could be the best TCC that I've ever been to. (I've done 56 TCC's ! )

The trees were white oaks w/ 10 to 20 bells.
It was difficult; most of the climbers did not finish even the 10-bell tree in 30 minutes.
There were 60 climbers, and I think all were world class (i.e. could, or have, qualified for ITCC)

Well deserved Kudos go out to many, many folks & companies:

Luke, Nick & Carson for TreeStuff.com Jambo 2 !

The entire Gene Meurer Sr. family were fabulous hosts.
(Including the very young kids who helped clean up trash after each day’s activities).
They not only allowed hundreds of climbers, families, & spectators to enjoy their compound, but prepared the facilities (real toilets, showers, running water (most of the time ;-), etc.)
The entire site was mowed, parking clearly marked, camp sites in the woods were brush-hogged, etc.
The entire site was beautiful (e.g. the 2 over-the-lake bridges to enter the climbing site !)
The Meurer’s also did a huge amount of behind the scenes work (driveway maintenance after very heavy rain, bridge repairs, water well repair, etc, etc.)

Scotty Olson was Tremendous !
He was not only Chief Safety Officer, Head Judge, Head Tech, but he also took charge of 06:00 AM wake-up calls for the entire compound, schedule expediter, etc. ;-)

The volunteers were dedicated & awesome !
The 4 climbing trees basically ran continuously.
Each tree had ~3 to 5 judges & tech’s looking up & monitoring the safety & scoring for approx. 35 to 40 hours over 4 days.

Many thanks to the Sponsors for some fabulous prizes & cash donations ! ! !

Thanks also to all who participated, attended, & respected the property !

Jaammbo!!! So exciting for all that missed out, human claw game was awesome, crate stacking, all the woman climbers, that came out to represent! ! The Meurers, awesome family, Scotty, for sure, for imprinting the wake up call onto my kids, whom now wake up to say" Jaaammbo!!"
