Both my father and father-in-law were with this mission. Dad was an aircraft mechanic, and my wife's dad flew a hiller type helicopter. back in the early days.

Wow, that's great! I haven't heard of that organization in a while, but they had my interest long ago. Back in high school I thought about joining a group like that, but was already working for myself so I didn't. Some days I think maybe I should have.

Dad changed from auto mechanic and body repair, before/during/after the Korean War and then the GI bill for college, to aircraft mechanic when he was 33 as part of the process of joining the mission. My FIL was trained by the navy as a fighter pilot and twin rotor helicopter pilot during the Korean War.
