ITCC in Atlanta...MUST READ!

That's a given. Planning the International event starts 4-5 years ahead of time. A facility is booked for the ITCC and Conference. My read on this is that the City of Atlanta changed their mind.
I thought as much. Shouldn't there also be a contract stating approval for using a city owned site? This stinks of lawyers.

Someone wrote a reply relating this to cop city and it was deleted..? That was my first thought too. For those who don’t know about that project, it’s a very controversial development in public lands in Atlanta for a cop training center. One of the many avenues of protest the public has put up against the project has been tree sitting, so I’m wondering if a local ordinance was passed that forbids climbing trees on public lands for that specific purpose.

Anyway, it’s an important issue to keep a close eye on, look into it. I’ve been wondering what the ISA’s take is on it, as it involves clearing a large section of woods, and of course that’s ISA’s back yard now.

Atlanta has the most dense tree canopy of any city in the country. The police training site has been a controversy for about 2 years or so because of the forest it is removing. Whether they have passed stop gap ordinances to prevent tree climbing I don't know but it seems a reasonable knee perk reaction to me.
