Hey Team!
I’m hoping to find a used but taken care of 90xp. Closer to the West Coast the better, or if you are good with helping set up transport. Business is going well and needing this chipper for the pruning crew. Please let me know if you have any leads. Cheers!

Good luck! I’m about to pay a deposit for a 12xpc.. the dealer is sold out of ALL chippers, preordered and sold all the preorders before they are even built. If I pay the deposit tomorrow I won’t even get a chance to demo a machine. Used chippers have always been hard to find on the west coast, but are equally over inflated in price and hard to find

Have you checked to see if FMI Equipment in Spo-Compton has any in stock? I called my local dealer last week and the said they have a shipment of 15”and 18” machines coming end of August, but they are all spoken for. Besides that they said everything else is out 9 months to a year. Luckily I recently scored a very low hour 150xp which has been fantastic, so hopefully something pops up somewhere for a fair price. Good luck with your machine and hopefully that pulls through quickly!

The base priced 90XP with gas engine is a very good functioning machine. I went and rented one to see what it could do before I speced one for a build. A person might want to buy that unit and start from zero hours.
I would have to demo a gas machine before pulling the trigger. I hear they can be gas hogs and bog down a bit more than a diesel. However, it will just be a 9” so it’s not like we’d be stuffing it all the time. Something to think about if the price is right. At the end of the day it would be 10x better than loading a trailer and bed of the chip truck.

What are they asking for a new 12xpc these days? One in that size/style with a winch is the next item on my 'big tool' shopping list. Bauer Tree Equipment had a 12xp and 990xp for $35k I was certainly interested in, but wound up with a chip truck instead. I've got a customer of mine who wants to buy my BC1000XL for his own personal use, that would be a great downpayment on a fancy Bandit.

Don't mean to derail your thread and search TreeVB, best of luck finding what you want. Someone actually had a nice looking one out here in the islands for sale last year but it's long gone.

No worries at all. Any info that can be shared and valued is all good in my book. I will definitely tell you that a winch is a must, even on a 12”. Our 150 even has one and has come in handy many a time.

A little random, but this just popped up on FB and seems like it could be a good deal.

Huh, sales guy in Sacramento CA told me a build is 10 weeks right now. (12 when I had one done a few years ago.)

A Bandit dealer has a vested interest in telling you what rental yards have the 90XP to rent. And if you approach it carefully, can put you in touch with individuals who have bought them.

Would you turn down free labor dragging brush and feeding your 150 if I expressed interest and talked to you in the right way? (As in - go chip behind the unit you intend to buy.)

I will have to look further into California and see what there is. Can’t seem to find much of anything on the inter webs.

The Bandit dealer in my area is new within the last year. Great idea to see if they will let me know who has a 90xp. I’m sure I could entice them to let me “see it” in action with free labor. Could also exchange some training of some sort.

Unfortunately the xpc’s are not winch compatible machines. Have to stick with the XP class, so closest would be a 90xp which is about 38k with a winch and a 90hp gasser, then 12xpc which is about the same weight, non winch capable, same engine, much wider infeed table, and same width feed wheels (just 3” larger vertical height opening). I think it’s 36k or I might have swamped the prices but about 2k difference in price.
Then ya go to 12xp upto 150 hp, winch etc at about 58k and much heavier..

I drove by Morbark last week, they had a very large 3 axle chipper and a short row(maybe 10) of smaller units on the side of the building set up to ship and that was it. Normally they have 20-30 units out front and a few on the side.
One day I'll buy a smaller unit, for now I'll continue to load/unload the trailers.
Thanks for all the info guys, hope you find what you need @TreeVB .
