Isc rigging pulleys comparison

I had the oppotunity to photograph these 2 Isc pulleys side by side, to offer size, use and wieght comparisons.

The wieght of the small green one is just 500grams/ just over 1lb, which is very lightweight, and I find it very easy to use on most jobs, not 2ton lumps, but everyday jobs. One down side is the locking mechanism, that does need to checked and double checked, because it's a simple and easy thing that can be knocked into the open posistion.

The Isc flame, is quite a bit bigger and heavier at 1.4kg/3lb, it's a nice piece of kit with bomb proof stainless sides, which are 5mm thick, I have had all the massive Isc pulleys, but to me, if your happy to take the flame off the mantle piece, it's more than capable of doing everything.

It's worth giving it a go, the first ones I saw were kinda ridiculous.

Tuttle, you are probably the right man to ask about smooth cams biting into class1 rope, you have any thoughts on this? I have never tested it, wondered what will give first, cam slipping or rope damage?

Thinking of a back-up for an engine winch in order to stop pendulum swings when the engine cuts. We have used different hitch combo's for a couple of years, they work OK but are fussy to set and work with.

Good....Fair.....?!
I'm gonna have to do some static and dynamic testing, I have asked around in other places, nobody seems to have or is willing to give up information. Thanks anyway Tuttle, hope you get your little block sorted.
