Is this Rigging Wrong?

Obviously it's a removal, so the only damage that matters in that scenario is to the rope. No biggie. Double braid is better suited to block rigging, but I don't think it's a big deal. The only problem I can think of is that Lindens typically have really sharp V crotches, which makes a block preferable.

Nice that you can hear the sound off the rigging line running trough the natural crotch.

I would prefer a block as well, it's better for the rigging lines and in combination with a rigging bolder or port a wrap you get much better control and your lines will wear less.

yeah, there were only about 4 branches to rig down so just got the rope up. The branches weren't very big or heavy so its all good, would always use blocks and portawrap for anything bigger, seen some bad damage on esterlon from natural crotching on bigger trees.

I used New England Super Braid from Sherrill for natural crotch rigging, it's really tightly woven. Not as strong as most double braids but it's nearly indestructible. I like a block for heavy wood though.

I like to see pieces run pretty much exactly like your ground man did, if the path is clear, let'em go all the way to the ground.

I think a leather tube cambium saver is great for this type of rigging. It is easily carried around the tree and installed when needed.
