Arbor Dreams is hiring for up to two positions, both part time with opportunities for full time. Job is located on the souther half of Whidbey Island Washington. To be blunt the rental market is dire. Work experience preferred and a minimum 1 year commitment.
Must be willing to work up to 32 hours per week
Crew negotiates if Monday- Thursday, or Tuesday -Friday
We specialize in preservation work only, but this does include removals and view pruning in the most sensitive way. Smaller trees by PNW standards, but an occasional mature native.
Basic saftey gear provided
LGBTQ friendly is required
Knowledge of forestry and PNW native trees is a huge plus, as current county regulations doesn't allow for subdivision of smaller than 5 acres we do a fair amount of hybrid arboriculture/forestry work.
Very diverse work from planting, airspade, advanced rigging on steep slopes, to fine pruning in high end Japanese style gardens.
Pay ranges from $20-$40+ per hour depending on motivation, loyalty, and finally skill and experience in that order. Health insurance for over 20 hours per week, or higher pay if opted out, we are currently looking into matching contributions with other benefits.
The right candidate will have room to grow, be certified, flexible with learning new techniques and focuses. Gear discounts if purchased though the company.
