If you were to have a second harness (for friends & colleagues)

Is the tree motion light easier to adjust in the regular tree motion? That's my only complaint with my true motion, is how hard it is to adjust...

For an easy to adjust, comfortable, fitting a wide range, and decent price, I really like a singing rock Timber 3D harness.
Yes very very much so. But perhaps a little more complicated to put on. Leg loops and waist are fixed slider buckles, so you can’t thread the webbing though (for obvious reasons), but are very easy to adjust unlike the the regular (pro?) TM with latch buckles that are so hard to adjust that one needs tools to do so, perhaps while chilling in the evening with a beer. Otherwise one wouldn’t have the patience to try to adjust on the fly.
BUT I once through to recommend it to a friend. She is tall and lean, literally nearly my height at 6’ so 5’10ish+ and lighter than me. It wound up being a shitty recommendation as she could hardly ‘get the damn waist belt over my hips’!

I found that for long climbs with a saw I might need to cinch it up a hair. That and in my opinion when leg loops are set, keep em that way. Personally I prefer latching buckle like the TM Pro, and my waist doesn’t shift much so it’s an adjust and forget situation for me.

Well, I made the purchase last night online, and the company called me today to say that the saddle was no longer available. The only one that they said was available was the more expensive version. I will continue to search for an excellent quality, economic, And versatile saddle.
Right on, you’ll find the right one.

Glad I'm not the only one to think so!

I hesitate to let anyone else try my saddle because of that. The only time I want to adjust it is if I'm wearing extra layers. 2 shirts and a jacket needs a little more room than 1 thin shirt. I just suck it in and deal with a tight belt.

Slightly off topic because it is out side the desired price bracket, but the Monkey Beaver 2.0 (original) is a fantastic harness. It works very well in all functions, including adjustability. I have been using one for the last few months and am quite taken with it. Very comfortable and extremely well thought out harness.

Plenty on topic! Like all of us, I imagine, I’m scouring the World Wide Web looking for that unicorn of coast, quality, versatility, etc.

I’m sup attracted to the MonkeyBeaver. I’d love to exchange my Sequoia for that…just to try something different. Like ski swaps, there should be climbing gear swaps. Anyway, the challenge is versatility for my guests. I think about the hip size on one invitee. My size is too small, and I don’t want to spend $600 for a saddle that can’t comfortably work for a wide variety of sizes. Once again…in search of a unicorn.

I can easily fit into a small Monkey Beaver harness, however, I bought a medium because winter climbing here requires bulky clothes. The medium fits me fine for summer use also and has plenty of adjustment length left to fit a much larger climber. It is the upper D ring location that dictates the need for multiple sizes more than the webbing adjustability. Upper D ring placement is important for spur work but will not make much difference to a rec climber.

Hi. So I am a 32 inch waist and 510. Based on the monkey beaver website, it says that a medium would be appropriate. Would you concur? Also, thank you for the clarification on the sizing as it relates to the upper D rings. That is very helpful, I did not know that.

One of my guys has a Tree Austria 3.2 that is very comfortable...but it's not wisely adjustable. And doesn't have metal lower D's - they are webbing.

ZK, yes, a medium should fit you fine, but I believe the Monkey Beaver web site says to fit to pant size not actual waist measurements. There is a large overlap in fitment within the Monkey Beaver design, imho.

I have a 33 waist and 5'9", medium works well for me and is my almost daily saddle.
