Hey everyone I’m a climber from northern NY, and honestly idk being able to climb again. I was in a serious motorcycle accident a little over a month ago. I broke my tibula and fibula in 3 different places and my collarbone. So I have a plate in my collarbone and a bunch of metal rods and screws in my leg. All left side of my body. I have a family and starting to run out of savings so I made a gofundme which is not doing good at all but hoping that will change sometime. Plz atleast look at my page I’d really appreciate it, thank you

Did a car turn left in front of you at an intersection because they didn't see you?

Take heart young bodies and bones heal up well. You'll get better. 2 months and you'll have decent bone structure and will already be making headway on the soft tissue. : )

I once did collar bone and ankle right side. Got around the house sitting on a skateboard :) Mine was a (car) oil slick induced high side flop.

No I wish , it was my fault I bought a new bike 1990 bmw 650 800ccs and I didn’t know it had some kind of cruise control right next to the throttle. And I must have turned it a bit while going around a corner only in 2nd but then the throttle locked up on me and I went off road and hit a damn dead tree stump of all thing lol. But thank you I hope I will heal fast and get back to work soon. It’s been hard mentally too I’m very independent person and now I can’t even dress myself other than putting a shirt on. And having to ask for help was so hard and embarrassing to me. Everything just sucks at the moment

Whoa! Do you have health insurance etc?
Typed it in and it didn't link

Thanks , sorry try this 1 ! I’ve never done 1 of these before so still trying to learn how to do it idk what happened

That’s how a buddy of mine died. 16 yo girl new to driving and totally her fault but that’s a lot of guilt to carry.

Talking death traps, I see a spate of hemetless people riding hoverboards, T handle scooters and ebikes amongst the death dispensing cages. Sometimes they're carrying helmetless kids too. Worst cages are pizza delivery and cabbies followed by pms moms doing school dropoff or pickup. 45 years on a motorcycle. gives ya a few stories to tell. words to live by: defensive driving. don't just react, predict.

Oh wow I’m really sorry to hear that man, that really sucks I’ve had a friend pass away in a car accident not on a bike but I know how it feels sorry again

Yeah I’m fairly new to driving motorcycles but I have a bit of experience.. I found out that the bike has some sort of cruise control mechanism right next to the throttle, and I feel like maybe when I was pushing it out I may have adjusted it a little or it was already like that because I could tell it was shifting weird when I went down the road and I didn’t even go that far maybe like 200 feet turned around and I was thinking about asking him why I was like that but I turned around and I was gonna take it down one more time and when I shift it in a second that’s when the throttle locked up and I pay it because I didn’t know what was going on and end up going off the road, hitting a mailbox in a dead tree stump of all things

I hate to say it, but motorcycles are death traps. At least when you drive a normal vehical you have a "cage" surrounding you. With a mortorcyle, you are fully expososed.

I'd donate if I weren't ultra-poor.. God bless and good luck.
Yeah, you’re definitely right there man, and don’t worry about it. It’s all right. I’ve been there but if you could share it, I’d appreciate it or spread the word anything.

I once sold a 1200 opposed 4 goldwing. When I bought the bike the owner droned on endlessly about how its heavy but had a lot of power and I recall the first 40 feet of putting that thing into motion I wasn't completely in control of the trajectory. My turn I droned on endlessly to the new owner and long story short he just missed a parked car in the first 20 feet. Don't get the wrong impression, I toured 2up thousands of km even recording minihandycam in the Colorado mountain switchbacks. The seat was so comfortable it actually improved the condition of my back. Previous owner told me his wife fell asleep in the back seat. Sure enough one day I thought my wife was tapping me on the shoulder to get my attention but it was her helmet, doing head nods falling asleep! With the arm rests she just super comfy tucked right in there and couldn't fall out.

Anecdote for a bed ridden bud :) get well soon
