Just got 20' to make some new tethers and I&I's. This new batch has a small core down the middle that hasn't been there before. Any one seen this yet? does this change the splice? I figure it can just be removed and is only there to retain shape.

For a while Sherrill was the only one that had it with the extra core. Is that where you got it from?

Supposedly the extra core was a buffer for grizzly splicing. I just pulled it out and it spliced up fine.

interesting!! So that is why grizzly spliced ice seams bigger in diameter than what i hand splice. Do they make an ice that is bigger than 8mm?? I do like the diameter of the grizzly splice

You can make it "seem" bigger by putting something inside. Maybe a shoelace?

Ya so, what kind of friction hitch do you use? Oh' a VT with a shoe lace.

By the way Ice is more expensive from Sherrill so next time you should get their 150% deal from them. Wesspur is by the foot which is nice

The shoe lace thing is funny cause that is exactly what I thought I would do with the core after I pulled it out last night. Might make good pull cord also.
