Get a copy of the Rules: On-line / or Rule Book. Then:
1. Read the Rule Book
2. Read the Rule Book
3. Read the Rule Book

Go to another TCC & observe: 5/5-6/23 - Ohio TCC - American Legion Park - Marysville, OH

Do some searches here on Tree Buzz. There are lots of threads about doing well at TCC's. (Several are mine.)

Understand the Points.
Understand the Time limits.
Ask for times (frequently), during your climb.

TCC Climber's participate for many different reasons:
1. Meet other climbers
2. Learn new Techniques
3. See new equipment
4. Link to new employment
5. Win TCC points to boast
6. Compete in events to gain TCC experience
Etc.

After you have studied the Rule Book;
Send me a PM.
I will send you 1 question to see if you understand the Work Climb evert.
(it is a very easy question; but almost everyone gets it wrong) - significant points

There is also a easy question for Areal Rescue. (-small points )
