For those that have one what are your opinions. I just bought one and I will say I am very impressed. I was a diehard stihl man until I ran a 390 husky, after that I had always looked more at husqvarnas. Well a new 60cc saw was needed so I figured I would go for the husqvarna even though I own all stihls, and I am glad I did. This saw has all sorts of power hands down kills my ported 60cc saw I had prior. I will say if the new 540 top handle is anything like this 562 I will be getting rid of my 200 and buying one.

My hope is that they will build a 390 or even a 395 with the same features. I would switch to it over my 660 with no problem. I was always a fan of the old technology non epa chainsaws but I am really impressed with this new saw. I would recommend it to anyone considering one. I almost bought the 362 stihl until I ran them side by side and the choice was clear which to buy.

Yeah they are an awesome saw! I have had mine since early June and the thing rocks! The Rev boost is awesome and its great on fuel, and you barely notice any exhaust fumes coming out of it! I am the only one in my area running one and I highly recommend them to anyone thinking of getting a mid sized saw! I also can't wait for the 540 to come in!

I echo deevo's setiments. I bought mine late last year or early this year and it is an awesome saw. The replacement for the 346 is built the same way and I think it is available now. I too, hope Husky has finally built a good climbing saw with the 540. It sounds like it will be good competition for the 200t and head and shoulders above the boat anchor 201t.

I'm trying to decide between a stihl 362 and husky 562. I am not hearing great things about all the new stihl models, but they have been so good to work with in the past for me. it's not possible they have taken a step backwards... is it?

I honestly think Stihl is behind here. Like I said I was a diehard Stihl man. 200t, 026, 361,460,660 I own them all and I like them all. Now I feel that with the new technology coming about we have no choice all of our saws are going to be epa regulated to a high extent, well I think Husky is ahead of the game here, they have taken their saws to a whole new level with the 550 and 562. Stihl is lagging behind imo, even with the 441 m-tronic they couldn't do what Husky is doing. It seems like the new Stihls are just a disappointment from the old ones from my experience where the Huskys are a huge improvement.

I remember running my first epa x-torq saw a 575 I hated it said I would never run a Husky again. Well I was wrong they have come a long way from the 575. I am sad to see the new Stihls are not cutting it. They finally have gotten good air cleaner set ups and the antivibe is getting better but after that nothing and I will say Husky has had both of those for a while now.

I will say I'm nervous about having to work on these new saws but like anything else I think it should be easy enough to figure out. For a work saw I chose the 562, I really think is is designed 100% for the working arborist and maybe some logging. I thought I might have made a bad choice not sticking with Stihl but I think I will be just fine with the 562.

Having been a fan of the husky 372xp non green saw. I think it was one of the best saws ever made. I got to run a 562 for a month straight after the big storm that hit the dc area. I ran this saw 8 to 10 hours a day for about a month. I would say husky has a great saw with this one.i had no problems with the saw.i can't wait to try the 540. Keith

the 562 is a great saw and quite the little power house , in most cases its all the saw anybody needs as it will cut pretty big trees , Husky has surprised me with the new models of saws, more power than the older model and in most cases the new model is lighter

Well I have put a few tanks through it and I like it more and more each day. No more flippy caps to deal with too which is a bonus. Only complaint is I wish the exhaust port was on the side of the muffler so it wouldnt be so hot on my hand when the powerhead is in close to a big log.

If you run into a problem that once the saw is hot and does not want to start just put the high idle on and it will start , some of the earlier 562's had this problem

I did notice that actually. I just figured that to be a typical husky. I could run it for a while shut it off for a sec then it didnt want to just fire right back up. I put the high idle on just as you said and no problems. Its not the worst thing to happen and it doesnt bother me at all. I have an old 261 husky that takes about 30 cranks to get started and it starts after about 5 pulls when warm. Always has been a pain to start but it cuts well when you use it.

My first 562 was that way , once it got hot you had to put it on fast idle to start, I have not seen the latest series of 562's with the different carb setup on them but I figure they have done this to help with this problem , the 562 uses a zama carb/autotune where the 550 uses a walboro carb/autone and has none of these problems that I have seen , another thing I have noticed is the decompressures on these new saws stick open so that doesnot help the restarting , I got 1 365 XT and if you push in the decompressure you can crank your off but no start , leave decompressure out and it will start every pull , I'm sure its the rubber sealing ring on the decompressure is binding on the cover

To be honest I have yet to use the decompressor. I thought I would use it more in the tree but I really havent needed it. My old 261 had a pretty serious woods port job and the compression was raised to I tended to use the decompressor once in a while when I was beat but the 562 pulls over nice. I would say right now I would buy another 562 no problem. We will see how the auto tune does, if it doesnt give me any trouble it will be a keeper.

I bought my 562 in the late fall or winter if I recall correctly and I think that classifies it as one of the early ones. In fact, my first one blew up because it ran lean. Apparently there were some problems with the auto tune in the beginning. Husky replaced the whole saw right away with no questions asked. My saw will not restart in one pull hot unless the choke lever is set on the high idle position, just like hep is saying. I wonder if this is something Husky will fix under warranty for me. It sounds like they have this problem solved on the newer saws.

I would think a good husky dealer will fix that problem for you, they will put a new carb on it . I have not seen the latest 562 with the different carb/ coil setup yet but hope ones shows up here shortly, I want to try it and see how it works , this is just my honest theory on things . You would never seen husky replace or fix as much stuff as they have on the 562 if they had not made the 550 so good , the walboro autotune on that saw is very very good and to be honest I wished Husky would of gotten walboro to of mage the autotune for the 562

Well I finally had trouble with mine. Its back at the dealer but I have to say I am kind of on the fence about the autotune now. I was on a job saw ran fine until I put it in the wood. Could not make a cut because it was running way too lean. It wasnt the autotune problems that bothered me so much as the fact that there was not a thing I could do about it. The old stand by adjustable jet carbs I can make run if there isnt a serious problem. Once the autotune doesnt work that saw is done until it goes to the dealer.

Im not really impressed now, I think I will probably wait before buying another until they have it pretty well hammered out. I think the idea is good but the only problem is we need to be able to do field work on them.

well I see your point but also look at it this way , if the saw was running just way to lean then something has to be wrong somewhere on the saw so riching the saw up may not be the best idea as that could lead to total blowup or cause you to fix alot more than what was wrong to start with, the later 562's seem to be better than the first run of 562's , they have a different carb/programming in them . Get use to autotune cause they all are coming with it shortly

Yeah I hear you there. I fully understand the deal, I hope they get it figured out because it does make for a great work saw that doesnt need a whole bunch of attention.
