How's the work flow?

Up here in the great white north things were looking about the same as you guys - slow. Then the end of March brought one shit kicker of an ice storm in my area of Ontario. I'm booked out 8 weeks ( usually 2 weeks out most of the busy season) and call volume is still great. I picked up a bucket truck, another dump trailer and hired a 3rd guy.

If it wasn't for the ice storm I think this season would have been very quiet in my area. Lots of competition kicking around and lots of guys willing to work for a lot less than I am!

Being out and being seen, using strategic parking at times, keeps a company out working.

It might mean lunch and breaks next to the street/ sidewalk, rather than being in the back yard.

Have truck signs visible at rush hours.

Being near the sidewalk (without noise or dust) during the little window in the morning and afternoon if near a school, knowing there are walking parents that live nearby (have business cards readily available (even have a dispenser/ case in the outside of the truck or on your cones/ signs.

Etc, etc

Large truck signage is very worthwhile.

Hahaha

Most of my jobs are on acreage.
Being at the gas station at the main business area on the peninsula had me running into past customers time to time. Often, they have something in they mind, as they each have so many trees on forested properties or views that get overgrown.

It's right near the school.

I have no restrictions and even work at the school every couple years... Prevailing Wage applies.

Calls are Slow.

One good job is postponed after the neighbor providing access sold the house.

I'm still busy.
I have a couple bigger projects to start when I get back to work at the beginning of June.

Small jobs will keep coming.

Definitely thankful for what we do have
Exactly ! I have a lot of guys around me saying they’re week to week
I feel blessed to have some work for next few weeks hoping the calls keep coming and pricing will come up some. I don’t know global economics let alone microeconomics, but people don’t spend when that stock market ain’t right around here it seems
