The Artemis project started in 2017...
If they can pull it off, the plan is for Artemis Ii to have men orbit the moon in 2026... I think that's not going to happen... and Trump hopes to put a man on the surface by 2028.

My question is... if they really put a man on the moon in 8 years using 1960s technology, why would it take 9 years to just orbit the moon using 2020s technology

NASA funding cuts? Incompetent/inconsistent government and corporate leadership? And more specifically SpaceX's Elon Musk is a deeply erratic individual who seems constantly on the edge of meltdown. So NASA is dumping him for a new rocket/spacecraft builder, that just added another couple years to the schedule. Context is everything, linear progress is a fake concept, doesn't matter how much the technology improves if the leadership sucks.

No arguing... Just checking... at least you have the guts to speak up...
Well, you are presenting an argument by asking that question. It's like saying "You are brainwashed, prove to me you're not", and... "If you disagree with me you're definitely brainwashed". Who wants to play in that sandbox? It's more fun challenging your premise ;-)

The school system washed my brain for 18 years. Practical work experience washed it some more. Parents and family did some washing. Tried to make a point of washing something new into my brain on an ongoing basis. Take a look at Smarter Every Day, that'll get you some washing.

The algorithms are feeding Daniel every conspiracy theory under the sun based on his internet activity and searches.

..and he's soaking them up. Confirmation bias.
I've been an anti-vaxxer since the early 90s, before the modern movement was started by Andy Wakefield's article in 1998, and before the internet. I found out about alien genesis in 2002, from reading Sitchin's books. I saw the move JFK when it came out in the early 90s, before the internet. Read Bo Gritz's book, Called To Serve, in 1992, again before the internet. Had friends that liveed in Nicaragua through the reolution. Been studying alternative cancer therapies and holisitic health since the 80s.

I did find out about 9/11 from the internet, and now of course it is the main source of info, but that doesn't make it untrue... I'm not a flat-earther. I think Qanon was a psy-op. I belive that viruses do exist. It appears that bitcoin was started by the deep state but I wouldn't bet my house on it. I do believe that the 2020 election was stolen, but again, I wouldn't bet my house on it.

If believeing that Charlie Kirk DID NOT stop a 30.06 bullet with his spine in a miraculous act of Godliness that saved the lives of those behind him, makes me a conspiracy theorist, then ya.. that's when conspiracy theory and common sense converge.

I’m incredibly brainwashed. A product of my culture. Leftist based on where the stork dropped me? I try to look at things objectively but I have a pretty strong bias.

I thought we covered this moon landing conspiracy on an earlier thread of yours?
Personally I loved this thread title, I laughed out loud.

The funny thing is... we all wwre brainwashed.. yet I have never heard much talk about it... it's only common sense though... no one realizes that they've been brainwashed until they are extracted from the condition...

Another way of looking at it is this...
Assuming it's true that we were all brainwashed...
the more you think like every one else, the more likely it is that you are STILL brainwashed

Makes no sense. There is no unified "brainwashing force". Or large group of "brainwashed" people. Except perhaps under the forced (at gunpoint) belief systems of the most totalitarian regimes. Even then a large number of people are making a show of "belief" so they can eat and have a roof to live under.

There is pervasive long-term consumer marketing, there is pervasive political and corporate branding and manipulations. There are deep cultural beliefs right or wrong handed down from generation to generation. There are zillions of other entities out there selling their "story". Humans by nature are branding and marketing themselves all the time. The advertising and "public relations" industry simply codified and professionalized it so they could sell and capitalize on human tendencies.

That said... could you be more specific as to which brainwashing you're referring to?

The term "brainwashing" has its roots in the early cold war period, post WWII. It was taken up in popular culture in TV, movies and novels. A very compelling idea, a person's beliefs could be washed away and replaced with a new belief system. It turned out to be pseudoscience.

In reality the political influencer (or any entity attempting to create some kind of mass thought/belief shift) has the most success when they leverage and amplify existing cultural beliefs and biases. This is not brainwashing strictly speaking, it is clever manipulation. It is very compelling to build highly improbable (the more outrageous the better) conspiracy theories. If they are smartly constructed they're catnip to the target demographic.

This kind of conspiracy theory can never be disproved and they can't ever be proven. You will hear "It must be", or "It has to be". Nothing "must be", there is only what is. Just because something is not "disproven" does not make it true. Critical thinking is required to navigate the territory. If you want to believe in a conspiracy theory you have no chance of discerning whether it is real or not.

He does this all the time (Daniel) drops a few tree related posts to lure you in, then whammo!
Starts with the ‘They Live’ stuff.
Fill your boots, he loves getting engagement with his nonsense.
Usually called trolling, should be called trawling ;-)

When things go bad the fisherman returns home and repairs the nets. But sure enough, back to sea again, nets lowered.

Can you tell I love this subject? If you want to follow a more expansive definition of brainwashing the following question is relevant. Who was/is your biggest brainwasher? Your parents.

Talk about a totalitarian regime! “If I say so it’s true!” And then if you were raised in anything vaguely resembling a Christian tradition there was that whole Santa Claus lie. And completely supported by entire communities and even nations. As if it was some secret handshake, transmitted through mysterious telepathy.

What a letdown when you realized your parents had been lying to you all along! And everyone else was conspiring with them. Truly devastating, clearly no adults care about the truth. Conspiracy is baked in, anyone and everyone is ready to lie to support the dominant paradigm, WTF said the child to themselves.

So it begins. And maybe if the kid is lucky so begins their journey towards becoming a good critical thinker ;-)

I’m not going there, the theory that good old Santa is the red with white dots embodiment of Amanita muscaria. The reindeer are flying, defacto tripping. Santa is sipping reindeer piss and tripped out hisself? Or the other interpretation is he IS the trip by dint of being the very fungus in question.

This version of Klaus is pre-Christian, in the shamanistic traditions of far northern Euro/Asian indigenous peoples. It’s all a cover-up, modern Christianity will not endorse this history. One cover-up after another, it’s almost mindblowing but not quite ;-)

Forgot to mention, Santa’s elves. That’s another can of WTF.
