I've been reading a little about gardeners that use hort oil combined with baking soda as a fungicide. I am thinking about trying it on my dogwoods for powdery mildew and also see if it seems to help with anthracnose?
Any thoughts for precaution or experience with effectiveness? When I first got into starting my own PHC program it was amazing how product suppliers never mentioned hort oils as a treatment option and often wanted to sell something toxic that required a respirator etc.
After 4 years of applying oils for customers that have me back every year so I get to see the results, I have to say oils have worked beyond my expectations. So I figure why not try some other simple, cheap, safe treatment options and see how it works.
