Homemade mini skid light materials bucket: The Tompensator

My stock mini skid steer bucket was way too small, barely the capacity of a single wheelbarrow load. I got so frustrated moving mulch, firewood, or stump grindings with my mini skid: "IT'S JUST AS F(*%ING SLOW AS A WHEEL BARROW"

Solution: I built a giant bucket for my Thomas 25g called the "Tompensator."

We unloaded a pickup truck full of chips in the front drive of my house this morning and Dan moved it to the backyard landscaping with the Tompensator in 3 trips. I sell 20 cords or so of firewood a year and use the Tompensator to move and load it.

The Tompensator is 3'x3'x40" which is 15 cubic feet or more than 1/2 cubic yard. I made it out of scrap 1/8 inch sheet and custom fabricated the mount.

Thanks flyingsquirrel!

I love my old TomTom. I run a tiny operation so it is perfect for me.

It took me 4 days to build this big bucket and shipping it would cost a fortune, so I don't think I will be selling them any time soon.

On the other hand, I am building my own custom stump grinding attachment. If it works, I will definitely be looking at selling some.
Stay tuned!
