That and to change saws.Looked to bring the pull line back up to him.

Looks like he was leaving a strap on the backside of his cut. example, check out 3:00 markI'd like to know how he avoids having his saw stuck?
yup, lactic acid was building in my forearms as I watched along.Little guy handled the big saw like a champ, didn't he? I got tired just watching him.
What kind of tree was that?
Assisting with the support of his giant balls. What was the crane for?
Definitely Cryptomeria Japonica.I think Cryptomeria japonica... looks like a sequoia doesn't it?
X 2. agreed. probably a smart move when there's no face cut. I can only imagine how much longer that job would've taken with face cuts. hell if I would drop a log that big without one though.Looks like he was cutting with the top of the bar. Filling kerf with chips to avoid pinching.
agreed. not to mention he had ninja "toe-shoes" on. he wasn't standing down on the spikes, or even at a slight angle, but he was totally flat-footed against the tree, nearly 90 degrees to the trunk. i kinda want to try those spikes now.You can see two spikes on the outside of his foot a few times in the video.
yeah I was wondering about that... that must be an expensive repair!looks like that one log might have busted up the mile-long stairs.
