Thats fine, but all of this stuff is poisoning this board,

[/ QUOTE ]

When certain trolls post here, this is all I see "*** You are ignoring this user ***"

Try it... it makes the reading here so much more pleasant.

I agree that is an option, but that is a cover up to the problem, new people come here and see this, homeowners come to this site, lots of people come here. I am not offended by virtually anything anyone has posted, I just dont want things like whats been going on to detract from the professionalism and overall attitude that this board is and should be.

Yea, what is that Mark?

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't think that Mark's first post in this thread was meant for us (the frequent users that login) but for the people that don't login.
They can't see the extras in for example the 'Overflow'.
I'm not telling what, let the NON logged in (hé that sounds like something wood) see it for themselves by registering and logging in.

Yep, that's all Mark was trying to point out. Register, log-in, and then you'll see all the forums.

Now if we can get all this stuff to just stop, it would be even better.

In the real world, unlike the cyber world, one has to be suitably qualified, experienced and trained to be a tutor in their area of expertise.

Same in the church to a certain degree depending on the denomination. Catholics certainly show the heirarchy.

Now, back to this discussion as my beliefs of the spiritual are also seen as inappropriate by some. (you are in my prayers)

In colleges and recognised training facilities you simply are not permitted to teach modules of arb beyong your own qualifications, and you usually have to also take some teaching skills courses so you have the skills to teach people without conflict.

Axeknot's passion for the industry is clear, he is trying to alert people to certain issues he feels are unsafe. Apparently this is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.

Well, from personal experience and from what other business owners tell me, this industry is rife with quacks, crims, thieves, hacks, drug abusers, drug users, drug manufacturers and drug distributors, perhaps even money laundering, illegal immigration, tax evasion, social security fraud, identity fraud, probation absconders, inchoate offenses etc.

If censorship and suppression of these facts and people is beneficial to the industry then please advise me so ... especially when they are in a position of influence upon others.

I can relate the suppression and exposure of individuals within this industry to that of the Catholic priest's who molested young boys ... which upon exposure and ensuing witch hunt resulted in it being a global phenonemum. Many were found and prosecuted.

Gasoline71, I see your consistent support for MB at this board simply devaluing your stature. I have read the hallowed walls of The Tree House and find consistent gibberish and idle innuendo of many matters not pertaining to the professionalism and progression of arboriculture. Reading into your posts going back some time it appears you are no expert in any field let alone that of skill and character assessments of individuals.

Thank you all for reading my post, and Mr Axeknot you may find that an alternative approach with the same result may be executed if a little more time and thought were put into a post. This one took me perhaps 10 minutes, if you feel you require assistance I am most willing to help.

In fact I extend that offer to you all, sincerely. Gary.

The best way to get rid of trolls or blathering is to ignore them and not comment. Shunning works on the boards just like it does in The World.

Tom the term 'Tar Baby' most frequent use today is as an ethnic slur.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncle_Remus
"The animal stories are not racist and had considerable popular appeal, but by the Civil Rights era of the 1960s the dialect and the "old Uncle" stereotype of the narrator, long considered demeaning by many blacks, as well as Harris' racist and patronizing attitudes toward blacks and his defense of slavery in his foreword, made the book indefensible. Without much controversy the book and movie became less popular.

Harris himself said, in the introduction to Uncle Remus, that he hoped his book would be considered:

…a sympathetic supplement to Mrs. Stowe's [author of Uncle Tom's Cabin] wonderful defense of slavery as it existed in the South. Mrs. Stowe, let me hasten to say, attacked the possibilities of slavery with all the eloquence of genius; but the same genius painted the portrait of the Southern slave-owner, and defended him."
