Diesel cost more off the truck unless you buy 2500 gallon at a time around here. Usually about 25 cents a gallon but still worth it for the time savings
That is exactly what I did for a while, throw the tank in the truck and buy on road... then get the road tax back on my taxes. Then I bought this gas chipper and it no longer makes sense to have diesel at the house. I'm aware of the heating oil trick but in PA you don't pay sales tax (6%) on heating oil, but do on off road fuel. And they won't deliver to a tank that's not attached to the house. Sure I can play games, but it's an expense to the business and sometimes it's just not worth the semantics.Mert grab yourself a transfer tank and deliver it yourself. BTW heating oil is identical to off road.
