help! change in times

hello, back in the mid-90's i started climbing for southern tree co. i climb for 1.5 years. the changed jobs due to health cond. last week i replyed to a ad in paper on a job as a climber for line clerance.thinking that i may get it i startde reading up and boy how things have changed since i was trained in it!alot of the names of gear and tech. are new to me and seems my old way of climbing is just obsolet anymore would like to talk to a fellow member to refresh and update alittle on it all if anyone has a free min to talk it would be great thanks
 
theres stacks of information on this site.....few hours of reading you'll be surprised what you'll learn. if you want specifics then im sure any questions you ask will get answered pretty quick!
might help for starters if you tell us exactly what equipment and techniques you currently use to climb
 
If you learned good safety practices, the gear being used doesn't really matter as long as it is in good condition and meets our safety standards. The high tech gear creates conveniences. Their are still great climbers who use a tautline hitch. There are bad climbers who use high tech gear. It'll be common sense and safety awareness that'll make the difference with a good climber.
