Helmet comm's

No experience with that make, but looking at the specs it says only two sets can communicate at once. Our senas do 4 just fine and five is doable on days we rent a crane but sometimes it wants to kick one of them out.
The Sena smh10r are a bit more expensive than the ones you posted but they do hold up well and function well for our industry, in my experience.

I think you are correct, the Senas may be the best unit. I do see that the one's I provided the link to can link with three unit's but only two can talk at a time. What that means I have no idea? I do know that for a small crew if I "could get by" with these it would save a big hole in my pocket.???
Still looking for thoughts or hands on time. I thought I saw these in use on a youtube vid from one of the big boy's but not 100% sure.

You know.. not for nothing but if your trying to get away from the higher cost of the Sena units & your going to have to retrofit something anyways, id look into some motocycle forums.. Naturally, I think those guys use these types of devices more than anyone else & probably have the Low Cost game figured out.. Of course within that crowd there's gonna be the Brand Loyalists, but i think you may be able to find a decent dialed in system at a significant cost savings..

Personally, with the Sena's i feel like I'm paying for two main things that have little to do with user to user communication.. That is.. Name brand & media consumption. I feel if they just focused on user to user communication, the whole experience would be allot better, more user friendly & have the actual reach they want to claim they have.

Idk.. i know some ppl love them.. i did as well at first, but quickly realized their shortcomings, the fact that no one on the crew could figure out how to use them fluidly on a daily basis, if you walked behind an object 50-70 feet away you'd lose contact & if just one was forgotten to be charged at night the next day was a disaster depending on which one it was. The whole distance thing really pissed me off though.. they market the shit out of their range & make HUGE claims of 980 yards, yes yards! Yet i can't walk to the front side of a building or home without losing contact to those out back. You'd figure being that close & only 60-70ft into that 980yrd range the device would work no matter what, period, full stop.... I mean what is that.. not even 5% into their marketed range?

Anyhow.. i get carried away on a fucking rant everytime these Sena's come up.. especially now that i see their pushing them for commercial builders where the exact conditions these units fail to work are going to be experienced 90% of the work shift.. Like being up 20 floors & behind a wall trying to talk to your forman on the ground..etc.. scenarios like that.. I would expect & accept that type of functionality from a $30 china town knockoff, but not from big name stuff costing $150-$450 a pop.. it's just not acceptable in my opinion.

I was really impressed with the SpeakEasy company at the trade show last fall, and they are coming out with a new model in March that can pair up to 6 headsets. They advertise that you just turn them on and they are connected...Also that they stay connected. They claim to have fixed all of the problems Sena has.
We have Senas now, and pairing and staying paired has always been a headache.

Following.. I'd like to know how they work in our industry.

Sena tufftalk lite is garbage. The microphone will break easily and so will the cable connecting each headphone. The company I work for made them a must have for every worker and I've already damaged two sets from climbing in 6 months. They make your hardhat alot heavier and they are completely unnecessary for transmission powerline removal/trim
