Anyone feel like controling vegetation?

I don't know what to think about this invention.

I saw a clip of that on the financial news network about 10 years ago. I hope he had a hard hat on.

definately cool.

Did the 'groundy' use a stick to 'unload' the static electricity? Or was he betting on the release by putting it on the ground. If the static electricity isn't released properly it will kill him one day.

It's a rough method but it gets the branches off, like it or not.

I've seen the similar pruning techniques used in Scandinavia.

I wonder if the blades all turn in the same direction, or not? And why the odd number of them?

They have been in business for many years, at least 14 that I know of. I was in Louisiana and they done some work for Gulf States Utilities in the Atchafalaya Swamp when I was there.
It is a cost effective way to do the necessary work. Some would say, and have made mention here about "Proper Cuts". It is in remote areas that this work is done and doing "Proper Methods" would more than quadruple the cost vs. aerial trimming. Even if the trimming was done by conventional methods it would still be stub cut by a Jaraffe trimmer and still cost double due to the limitations of terrain and accessibility.
