Heavy duty ramp truck for Merlo 50.30

Yes, pretty much like that, climb high. Though, I wouldn't be building a traditional bed with subframe etc, more like straddling the truck frame rails and having the "platform" sit lower than the frame rails themselves. As it's sitting there, I'm betting it's over 42 inches, which is already the max height I could sit on....

Might have to "bridge" the tires with a removable section that you could take off after you load the machine so that the tires wouldn't rub on them while the truck is driving.

I was just going to suggest that. Glad I read the whole thread before posting. Aluminum would work nicely to make wheel pocket bridges. Drive past them, remove all four, then back into the pockets.

I’ve seen a heavy rollback truck in this area that moves a lot of farm tractors, he has wheel pockets towards the front of the bed for tractor rear wheels, and the bed has removable inserts for when they want to use the bed as a normal flat deck.

Its not going to hurt them to run over them directly. All the older fixed neck low boys are like this.

So maybe I missed it, but why not a lowboy and tractor? Should be able to get a 36 to 40" height on a non detach. A shorter daycab tractor with an approriate length 25 or 35 ton lowboy is going to be way move manuverable than the truck with tandem steering you had posted. You could also use the lowboy to move a mini skid or articulated loader at the same time. Also can haul large logs on one.

You are probably right. I guess I just don't know anything about tractors and what I should get to tow it. Plus I only have a class b presently. There is a pretty slick 25t non detach lowbed for sale near me
