HC/RW tending

BEWARE! Slowly, but surely, gear lust starts to creep into your subconscious, manifesting itself with deep urges and many purchases.
Good luck to you, there are support groups for it, but unfortunely they all promote it, instead of cure.

Don't forget to mention the rope splicing bug. I haven't caught it yet, but I hope to. I get the feeling folks really go down the rabbit hole with that stuff.

someone here is in that area I bet. Maybe @flyingsquirrel25 or @Tony

We are a bit away from there.

Wish I could. Maryland's Eastern Shore: Delmarva Penninsula. 1.5 hrs South and East of Baltimore/Washington. I've looked without success but maybe you have suggestions for sources?

If you want to travel up this way (Longwood gardens area) you are welcome to hang out and discuss climbing.

Hanging out with a fella like Squirrel for a few days could shorten your learning curve by years, so I would take him up on his gracious offer. If your goal is to progress as a climber I would get your ass in the car, and make that shit happen!

That's a really nice offer and I will take you up on it. You're around 2hrs from me and I have a really good friend exactly half way between us for whom I did some tree work but left feeling there was unfinished business. (Our wives needed attention!)
Maybe I can put together a trip. Would it be ok to email you if I can figure out how?

Absolutely! Email works and so does text. Phone calls during the day don’t work but I’m sure you can understand why. I’ll PM you the how to contact me. I don’t really want all these guys having my cell number.... they will start sending me dirty pictures! :X3:

Thanks for the astounding review man!

@flyingsquirrel25 that there's funny. I didn't suggest by phone/text on a public forum: I failed to anticipate the upside!
Got your contact info, thanks. I'll shoot you an email.

I only bring cash and leave my cards at home so i set myself a limit
It’s bad

We are 25 min from American Arborist and I always leave there without what I wanted, because they hardly ever have it.
Conversely we are 45 min from Gap Arborist... I don’t even have to go into that place and the bank account cringes. I tend to send one of the guys, so it limits my impulse purchases!

@Aragorn Bill it was great meeting you and working with you last week. I hope we were able to help you out, and I your new gear treats you well. Please let us know if you need anything in the future or want to try something out. As you saw there is quite the pile of past “less efficient” “ideas”.
Also, thanks for the care package!

I know you said I owe you nothing but once I get the parts I’ll send you a cool pen.

My first place out of college I rented a room from a couple guys and one them worked on a tug boat in the SF bay. He was doing some big splicing like that too. The numbers are a little hazy now (20 yrs ago) but I think I remember him saying they'd recently switched to 3" Plasma that was insanely expensive for the length they used, 400' or something like that. Wish I would've gotten him to show me more about splicing back then.

@flyingsquirrel25 @johnbeiler @GreenstoneVT Mert - thanks for giving me the tune up and rummaging through your collection of relics. The chest harness for the hitch tender, reorientation of the hitch biner to align with the soft D on my saddle using the quick link (which I plan to replace with Ring-open), changing the route of elastic on my Haas, have done wonders for my ascent. Borrowing your RW made a believer out of me and mine arrived yesterday.
It was fun to watch you, John and Nick ply your trade. I can't wait to attend your advanced course "Going off-rope: moving through the canopy like a Sciuridae".
The Flying Squirrel Academy rocks!
