Groundie day!

For all the cleared ropes, for all the dragged limbs, for being a much needed second set of eyes, and for just being bad-[use a better word], I would like to thank all those ground support individuals. Thanks for making my job safer and easier all these years. I'm declaring Saturday April 8th (arborday?)to be Groundie day. I suggest we all buy a lunch, sign a card, or pat a back. You guys rock!

"put in the situation where I didn't have any gear with me and this all that was available to me and the money was right I'd been right there too and collecting the check. Everything has its price." [ what was he thinking? thread] I really hate to get combative, but you strike me as the kind of guy that takes risks, smashes stuff, and then blames the guy with the rake. When I read your posts, I get that same taste in my mouth as when I have to talk to a used car salesman. You should take a que from some of the guys who have been posting here a while, and show some humility, character, and respect. To everyone else that reads this post: I'm sorry to get personal on the board, but I felt it needed saying.

Hail yes I agree I have been a groundie for some time and been that idjiot in the tree. For my buds treated me good beers and bbq at the end of a day. Hold them a toaste for us on the ground whpo else would you yell to get the rope or get me this or that, and get the crowbar out your butt and chip some brush. With all set aside they and we decerve a good ole day off.

Thanks guys....you can ship all donations for the Groundie Training Institute directly to me via pay pal...the institute needs a new car. /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good call Jason, I sometimes prefer to work the ground if I'm the most experienced guy on the crew, makes the job go so much better, climbers and bucketeers alike love it cuz I already know what needs done even before they do. Ah yes, good groundies make the tree care world go 'round.

So does that mean all groundies get Saturday off?

I´ll drink to you all including myself, we groundies also wake up feeling like cripples eventually, but am not a glorified branch dragger we all have better skills.
