Green Gold

Heavy wood mate. Good work. Be nice if you had a still camera at hand too....just ask the ground men to take a snap every so often, for a ground and scale perspective. Photos have equal the value of video I believe. Even though they don't capture motion....instead they capture and potray moments, details and sometimes atmosphere better than video.

Another great vid. I noticed you climb for a bunch of companies, are there that many in your town or do you travel a lot for work?

G'day Frank,
Both is the short answer, if they are willing to pay then I am willing to play.
the land cruiser has a long range capacity with the dual LPG and petrol tanks and as you have seen before is a one stop climbing shop - not much that I need that isnt already on site with me.
out of interest I went back through all last years invoices and counted up the number of companies I had contracted out to last year
16 different companies.
Jobs inner city to staying onsite in country areas and lostsa k's driven.
cheers Ben,

Nice Ben. Always a pleasure! Big ole branches in that sucker.
Thankyou Cobber, yeah big and heavy branches some gut busters there all right.
hard to believe that tree wasn't more than 50 years old - damm the citridora's can put mass on like a prize title wrestler when tapped into a good water source.
without the water they are spindly weeds..
cheers Ben.

Ben I've had a youtube account for many years now....and what was youtube before that. I like the forums too because everything is done on neutral ground. It seems like a fair playing field to share information and discuss matters.

Instagram, twitter, Facebook and whatever else....no mate. From what I've seen it seems to be a encourage a very self centred and attention craving culture. I'm sure that's not the same of everyone, and that's just my impression from the outside of course. The idea of having 'followers' let alone being one is just a weird thing for me that I'll never understand. If people want to reach me I have email or a telephone.

Fair call - I use it to share stuff with other climbers and to have a bit of a larf but in whole do agree with you about the type of personality's generally attracted to such sites.

Instagram has a back door feature that allows very cheap and easy communication between countries in regards to words and pictures videos as long as you don't exceed the 15 second mark so still limited but the cheap and easy aspect of worldwide info swapping is great.

You are right about all the wankers and the following stuff though .
:D

I just can't get my head around it mate. Delusions of grandeur comes to mind in many examples and individuals since this whole culture has become the norm, tree workers notwithstanding. Wankers, quite. I hope you keep posting here Ben, I will too....but let's just agree to never 'follow' each other.

I am originally from California. I miss the big euc s. Legit takedown Ben.

thank you owScott, I can't imagine not climbing Euc's , on my vist to the states last year I only saw one tree I even recognised as from Australia - a dead queensland box at LAX that had been baked to a crisp in a construction zone , but made the trip more special in return .
I have a few big euc removals up on the video thread if you are keen.
and welcome to the Buzz :hola:
cheers Ben.

Hey hey Mate I follow both you and Reg for the inspiration and education. But awesome post and I will be a follower ha ha ha Still new to this.

Crikey - folks I would like to welcome to the buzz at special mention David Drivers new climber Matt Mecky - one cheeky little S.O.B right after my own little self.

there is a difference between following me and Reg and "Following..." some one - climbers need to take the lead the others follow behind - usually to clean up my sometimes spectacular messes.
blind faith is not wanted or welcome on my job sites won't speak for others here just my own opinion.

Matt has been lucky enough and skilled enough to be selected for the school for advanced climbers to hone his training to the X level. :)
and while I am jealous I am also sure that he will be earning that spot :D
welcome to the Buzz FMecky you grinning ball of trouble.
