grcs

familytree,

to resize your photos, add them to the iPhoto library, and then from the Share menu export them as a .jpg. iPhoto will give you an option to resize the pic.

thanks peter, i havent had my igeek friend over in a while to educate me a bit more about this computer so that will come handy, i have a lot of jobs i want to post with pics but have been unable because of this. will the jpeg setting get rid of the pic in the iphoto all together or create a duplicate, one in iphoto one as a jpeg?

ha, guys, if it were that easy i woulda done it thats for sure, he is worried about the visor plate not being worth the money and that it will bend, he isnt a climber and doesnt have much experience in the field, im going to try the cut out first, and if it does it again, ill insist on the plate, it seems that everytime i get something new its because the old one broke and there was potential for a lot of damage. i got all new rigging lines when we had a 3/4 inch bull rope break on us when rigging down pieces, had i been rigging down over a house and needed prescise accuracy we would have been in big trouble, same goes for our new eye slings, the other ones where so old that i snapped one out on a smaller piece of maple, we were fortunate that it fell onto the lawn between the sprinkler markouts

im not sure what he is doing with all the extra money he makes, and its none of my business, but i do know that we have been working over time for the past 3 months, we are sore, tired and getting sick of it all but yet we still have to fight tooth and nail for a new chain or a new hardhat for one of the guys, or a simple yet effective 100 dollar part, its been this way since the beginning, i know every price in every catalog for everything because i have to find the best deals and come up with a very good reason we should buy it and show its effectiveness for at least 6 months after we purchased it or ill hear about it everyday for the rest of my career there. the experience has made me a very very good foreman and accountaint at this point

i and the many other climbers before me have made him more than happy he bought the grcs, it literally pays for itself in the matter of a couple of jobs

he is the perfect example of the grcs being well worth its cost, because he is by far the most frugal man i know and yet he spent the money for it, so everyone else should as well

ill be posting the job in its entirety shortly know that i learned how to reduce the image size on my mac, i have a couple of vids that i may post on youtube of the grcs in action, i finished this job a couple of days ahead of schedule and it all because of my ground guys hard work and the GRCS!!!

It will create a new file, leaving the original in iPhoto

I guess the "visor" plate is the add on part for removals? It nestles into a wide kerf cut?

Its definitely worth the money. It kicks the back of the GRCS away from the trunk and reduces the wear on the rubber bumpers. In addition to keeping the unit from slipping up the trunk.

family tree,
my boss is the same way,
make due with what you have.
he says "i do not buy things for the crew b/c in the past the workers have lost or destoryed the equipment"
my response is then you pay me rent on the items i buy
he says it is part of my "job accessories"
bunk on that i leave my things home

yeah I deal with the mistakes of past employees as well and I've never been compensated for a single rope, sling, pulley, biner, chainsaw, throwbag and lines, ppe, or anything else that I bring to the table. Its getting pretty old and expensive.

OH NO!!! I thought I'd be leaving that attitude behind. My old boss in Toronto was like that, remembered every piece of equipment ever lost or damaged by the crew. He's been in business 25yrs!!! It took a full-blown cost benefit analysis to get a blower and he's kept that 16yrs.

I'm moving to Jersey this week so I'm hoping I can find a forward thinking boss that'll have or be willing to acquire the gear that'll make us more efficient.

I don't know, I personally hate face cuts on large pieces. The simplest and easiest is to cut 3/4 of the way through from the back, insert a thin rod so that the piece will lever off the saw, and finish the cut. Now you have cut the piece all the way through and you have a roller. Just push. I saw this idea in a French catalog.

[/ QUOTE ]That is slick. I always wanted to be able to just push off the "engine block" size chuncks

welcome to nj treehumper. Have you found a house or job yet? Do you know what area or county you are looking? You will be suprisd on how many companies spike top and over prune around here but I'm sure its the same every where you go. My boss makes us buy any lost equipment. We've bought one silky, a tree work ahead sign, multiple hand prunners, tampers, rakes... The list goes on and on. Its one of the reasons I get so aggravated working for him. We finished a job a couple of days early and the only thing I kept hearing was about the missing tamper. Frustrating to say the least.

Congratulations on the move brother. Feel free to drop me a pm if your looking for some extra work or a guide around the garden state.

New jersey. Only the strong survive.
