Gravity: one, Mark: nil

Just a quick one to thank you all for your kind and supportive responses...

makes me realise just exactly how lucky and priviliged I am to be involved in this industry with such a great group of people.

Thank you all.

TK, been meaning to get back about your "silly tree" response (yes, it made me laugh), but actually in this case "silly me" seems more appropriate.

I've done that a million times. I usually will test the anchor in an srt form. It's kinda funny how we identify the hazard and yet still use it. I will usually climb really fast in order to get off the ground fast that way if it breaks I'm off the ground. I suppose it's just a matter of time before I'm posting the same thing. We are a bunch of meatballs.

Sorry to hear about your accident. But, it's always good to hear a description of what happened, it makes others think that much more about different scenarios and what may go wrong. Good luck on your recovery, and I'll second Easyphloem's recommendation of David James Duncan books.

Heal quick. Dont forget you can still do situps and crunches

Then you will have a strong TRUNK.

Tom...with regard to the comp. What about a mat like used when bouldering?

Treemotion Gen II coming Summer 2008.......

I agree with Tod....stoopid tree! You observed risks and enlisted risk abatement strategies where possible.

Heal up Mark, if your bored you can come and hang out in the snow, sit on the lake, drink and fish through a very small hole in the ice.
