Got my permit!!!

Finally, after first failing the vision test a few weeks ago, getting glasses to fix that, and then failing the sign part of the test yesterday, and retaking the sigh part today, I got my permit!!! It is sweet!!! I had my first drive today and it was AWESOME!!! Can't wait to get the full license!!!!

Congrats man! If you're ever driving in MN let me know. I'll be sure to stay off the roads!

Now...where do you live? Let me know what you're going to be driving so that I can steer clear.

Just kidding! You made another step on the road to adulthood.

You just made me go back to getting my permit/license when I was your age. Pretty scary for me...I can't imagine what it was like for Mom and Dad. I'll ask Mom tomorrow.

When I moved to TX last winter I had to get my DL changed. Ooops...it had lapsed. That meant that I had to take the tests all over again. Piece of cake I figured so I didn't even open the manual. I failed in flames! There were about 20 questions about DUI, blood alcohol levels, underage drinking and the consequences. Most of those questions I got wrong. All I know is don't drink and drive, what do I need to know anymore about? Over the next couple days I studied and passed the written. On the road test I lost one point because my bumper came over the stripe that preceeds the crosswalk. Dang!

Now...if they would have a question on the test about 'slow traffic stay right' the freeways around Dallas would be less congested and move smoother. The right lane is empty half the time and the left lane creeps along bumper to bumper. I know that you learned to stay right unless you're passing though didn't you, RD?

Welcome to the mobile club!

Good job, like Tom I had to retake my DL when I moved to California from Canada. Even had to do a road test, cause apparently DOT feels everything is different in California compared to driving in Canada. I told them the only change was the measure of distance and speed, and even if I did get it wrong the fastest I would be driving would be 65KPH, hardly dangerous.
