Got a Buckingham ditty bag for christmas

My brother likes his buckingham ditty bag so well he gave me one for Christmas.

He's right, it's the cat's pajamans.

It has two snaps that fit perfectly in the middle back of my saddle. Completly out of the way and in tight, I can't even tell it's there unless I reach for it. The elastic top keeps stuff in even when pretty much upside down, but easy to reach in and fish stuff out.

I have a couple other small pouches I sometimes use, but one is going to be retired because I think this bigger but unobtrusive bag is going to live on my belt permanently.

I'll still use on other small pouch, to hold the free end of my longer lanyard.

Two thumbs up on the new ditty bag. I already wonder how I got by without it.

I have one permanently attached to my harness, makes it easy to carry stuff without attachment points like my scrench and Celox. Also keeps my spare split tail from hanging on a gear loop and getting in my way. Good tool.

I want to carry a bit of thorwline with me in the tree. Would something like this make it possible without having to wrap it up on a stick or a fishing reel? I'd be worried it would become a huge mess after a few climbs and not being used.

I was thinking about getting one, and now I am pretty sure that I wil give it a try! Thanks guys! And that sounds like a good idea about the other end of the lanyard. Even though I no better, from time to time I still get bashed in my face with it!

The ditty bags are awesome for christmas lights. At work we do christmas lights for 3 months and all 4 guys on the crew have one. Most of us take it off when its not christmas light season. They're great for keeping plug caps, electrical tape, spare fuses, anything. One guy has a second for throwline in his gear bag but doesnt carry it all the time, I would think youd get alot of birdnests out of it but thats just me. I like the lanyard idea, seen guys do that too.
