Getting old(er)

You probably know this but stretching can prevent injurys. I always stretch before work and do some strength training a few times a week.
Preventive maintenance is always more economical then rehabilitation.

Static stretching while your muscles are cold leads to more injuries. Wait til the muscles are already warm to stretch ie after the climb or work day. Dynamic stretching (before work or climb) is best for cold muscles.

I think luck and Genetics are equally important. Im 59 and been doing tree work all my life. I may be a little slower these day(may be) but im still a top climber where ever im working. It helps to love what you do.

Just saw this older thread but it it close to home! I am 64 and lots of aches and shoulder pains, touchy lower back, etc. Couple of my favourite things: occasional professional deep tissue massage after a big job; and then something I can do every night if need be: bathtub soak as hot as I can stand it with two or three cups of epsom salt in it, then some arnica rubbed in before bed. Never fails to help!

Your lawyer is probably working for himself, if you know what I mean.

Sorta like the realtor who would gladly sell your house for $10,000 less on day 1, than full price on day 60. Wrap it up and move on, slightly less commission.

Massage work is amazingly helpful.

Proper posture, too.

I pushed back on my lawyer after the frustration of losing days to doctor's appts that I have no say in the timing of. He's much more amenable to my queries.
