I know the Southeast is experiencing a gasoline shortage, but I am wondering if it is as bad other places as it has been this week.
In Charlotte, it has been over a week since almost every station had gasoline. Now, any station that gets a shipment of fuel, gets mobbed and lines run out into the street. People are panicky and starting to fight each other. The Mayor said things would be better by the weekend, but I had to come in to the office today to start an emergency crew, and on Sunday morning at 6:45 AM, the only station out of 6 near our office that actually has gas had lines 10 cars deep.
People talking in the grocery store and on the street tell tales of waiting in line for gas for over 4 hours, it's like a badge of courage, and everyone is morbidly interested in seeing long lines and news coverage of the fist fights and human drama playing out on the streets of Charlotte.
Lord help us if there ever is a real shortage, because people are ready freak out.
