We have a 1991 Fuso FH. It's the 18K GVWR truck with a 5.0L turbo diesel and 5 speed. It has no problems towing around 5000 lbs and a load in the bed. Don't get me wrong, there will not be a speeding ticket concern going up hills with a full load but it will get there. Ours has a bit over 270K on it so they last a long time. We average 12 mpg towing constantly and coming home with a load. We also have a 2001 F550 7.3 6 speed truck. It's the 17,500 GVWR version. It has 90K on it. It does have a bit more power vs the Fuso. It's not been bad as far as reliability but our fuso has required less parts and repairs even though its much older and has a lot more miles on it. Most of the Fuso's have an exhaust brake which is really nice. I've made far more money with that Fuso than it cost me. There's plenty of parts sources for these trucks and it's not been that hard to find used parts. One thing I wish mine had was the 6 speed transmission that came in the mid 90s. With the 5 speed ours is turning 3100 at 65mph.
