You got to learn the safe limits of approach for power lines. They're called safe limits for a reason. That few hundred dollars for tree work just is not worth dying like that.

These electrocutions are extremely sad cases as they can be avoided with more vigilance on the climbers part. Creating good work habits around power lines and maintaining a safe distance is protocol. No amount of money is worth anyone's life. My condolences to this man's family left behind truly sad and so young.
I've worked close HV lines a bunch and I just don't hardly do it anymore. It's too easy to call Duke Energy and have them send a bucket crew to do it for free.
