Fruit tree sources?

ATH

Been here much more than a while
Location
Findlay, Ohio
I've had a few clients asking us to plant fruit trees (cherry, peach, apple). They were looking for dwarf or semi-dwarf.

Local wholesale nurseries don't have what we're looking for.

Anybody have a catalog/online sources you've been happy with?

(or sources in NW Ohio/SE Michigan)

Womack Nursery has always been good with me. It's in Texas, so their shipping season is probably gone. They usually sell out of their heavy hitting items by February.

You could try Gee Farms here in Michigan. Their website is not useful other than to provide a phone number but if you call they may have what you need. It's worth a shot

The local nursery here has always been able to order what I am looking for. I will say this try and find a grower with similar climate as your area. The nursery stock that comes from Oregon and the PNW does better than the stock from Tennessee and Georgia. Bare root stock is a little more forgiving than B&B or containerized stock. Just my $.02

I’ve wanted to order stuff from these guys for awhile but waiting until I have some more space :ROFLMAO:

There is a tree with those red fleshed apples in a public park here in Detroit and nobody eats them so I get bushels in the fall. They're good to eat too. Not great but good. Honeycrisp has ruined me for all other apples forever.

A lot of crabapples were failed attempts to make "real" apples, so there is certainly some backcross in many varieties.
