Rigging, Craning, Pruning, Straight felling etc. You must be able to do it all, and well. The right method for the right job, every time. No excuses!

NPTC certs, insurance, transportation, own equipment etc a must.

No prima donna gear/image junkie types, need bother.

Good sense of humour, a must. Believe me, being able to laugh at the tasks that await you is better than crying!

If this is you, email RegCoates1@aol.com

Look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers, Reg.

Do all the girls in Cheshire really look like the ones in 'Hollyoaks'?

If so, I might be interested.

What's an 'image junkie' type?

You mean like the guy in your crew whose always checking his look in the wing mirrors of the transit?

Petzl ecrin roc and wraparound shades- right?

Yeah, you got it Grover.

But if they can do the business when it counts, it wont matter what else they're into.

Just no dreamers, thats all!

I think todays image junkie comes with a black diamond half dome and ear plugs, and of course the obligatory wrap-arounds!

Isnt that your own job your advertising though Reg?!

I'm very tempted by the free sandwich, but my boss is a friend of yours, and he would be most upset if i left right now!

Hey Pete, its a proper hot breakfast sandwhich.

You're right, it is my job.

I'm sure you'e boss would get over it.

Maybe there's something of value in the image/gear thing, perhaps we need modernising. Maybe it's me who's actually getting in the way of progress. You've got me thinking!

reg....i think climbers should learn old school then learn the new techniques, its when they go straight into the new techniques and gear that things get confusing for them and grind to a halt!
i was always taught the "get it done" way of climbing and recently incorporated newer methods to aid that end, not to aid me just getting my [censored] round the tree if that makes sense

Maybe you should mention it next time he's doing some timber craning for you!
I'm with you on this one Steve. If a climber cant take just a rope and a harness, and get into a tree with it, then they're not a real climber!

What about the tweed cap and ear muffs combo? I also have some eye protection I stole from the metal work class at high school.
