Four Wheeler Forwarding

Just curious if any of you are using 4 wheelers to move brush and logs , Bailey's sells a neat little tandem axle trailer with a grapple loader attached to it. Wondering if anyone uses one .

We use our Quad when there's no access for truck and chipper. Last week took down a dozen or so dead pines from 6" dia to 14" dia. Skidded lots of them whole others we had to cut in half or threes. Quad has three gear ranges and super low with differential lock. Amazing power for its size.

I used a quad in the old days. Sounds like I had the same machine as you have. The only thing I did'nt like about it was the skid trail it would carve in the turf. I have to admit the log trailer baileys sells has me thinking, (sorry I don't have a pic for you) it lifts 900 .lbs, carries 3500 .lbs and costs about $9500. Could have some advantages over a mini loader,And of course some disadvantages

Jim is the one who turned a lot of us on to using quads.

This log arch that Jim made worked great!

The mini grapple trailer never made it out of my 'Windshield Engineering' department.
