From my understanding, they are two completely separate businesses. I talked with Matt Bauer over the phone about a chipper a while back and he talked me out of the deal. Seems like a pretty honest guy.
I “ordered” a chip truck from Graddy’s and was told 2-3 weeks for them to go through it. They have two different pricing brackets and I payed the higher rate to have everything ready to go. 3 months later, no truck. My loan officer called and asked how I like the new truck which was confusing because I didn’t receive it. That pushed him to send the truck. It arrived with a bad battery, a shot carrier bearing, no speedometer, no horn, Re-tread tires that had flat spots, brakes and rotors needed replaced, no locking tool boxes (that was a big one we discussed), leaking power stealing hose, shifts super rough, interior is in shambles. I understand that buying used you have to deal with things, but this was advertised as “refurbished” and was supposed to be road worthy and ready to go. That’s just my experience and could be a fluke. Just be weary if you have to deal there.
