Many weeks ago the rains in the upper reaches of the Mississippi and Ohio drainage systems started the flood waters that have passed down stream.
The flood gates have been opened to let the water flow into the ancient drainage of the Mississippi River. Let's hope that opening gates will reduce the damages and disaster to Baton Rouge and NOLA.
