When I was in jr high it was either Beatles or Stones?!?!? My ear really liked CCR and still does. The first concert I went to was Albert King, Tony Joe White and CCR. Tom Fogerty had left by then so it was just the three. Still a great show!

I’d known that The Golliwogs was the band before CCR. I knew they played at Woodstock too. Tonight I was surfing YouTube and watched some tape of Woodstock. CCR played on Sat. night from 1:30am -2:15am.

This song by The Golliwogs sure does have the CCR sound too.

CCR was mine! I still like Fogerty!

Who was your first favorite band/concert?

Metallica, never been lower than my #1 since I first heard them. By far the best concert I have been to as well. They were so built up in my head that I figured there was no way they could live up to the hype - but they did and then some!

Robin Trower. To this day I still don't miss a show is he's within 100 miles! Fortunately he still plays a gig in St Pete, or Tampa every couple years. He still delivers the goods, and is a thoroughly dangerous individual, with a guitar in his hands!

Best concert ever for me was Neil Young (with Crazy Horse)... Opening bands were Sonic Youth and Social Distortion. Sonic Youth came out jammed with Neil at the end of the concert. It was unbelievable.

I dont remember the best concerts I have been too.

Pink Floyd was amazing.
Ozzy of coarse
Saw Slayer, Megadeath and Flotsam and Jetsam up close and personal at the Mason Jar.

Wait...I rememeber....it was Iron Maidens Powerslave tour.

UP THE IRONS!

First concert was with the family to see Neil Diamond (ca. 1974). First concert I chose to attend with my friends was Stevie Ray Vaughan in FW. Fave band is always a tough call, but in those days, I'd have said Rush in a second. Saw them at least 5 or 6 times over the years, and I don't do much concert-going. Now I'd probably pick Los Lobos.

Rob,

That show looks awesome. I didn't see my first Dead show until 1984 I believe. I ended up seeing them about 40 more times.

Couldn't pick a favorite, SOOOOO many incredible shows. The greatest pre/post concert party scenes were without a doubt at Dead shows.
