Finding a out of state source for soft wood.

Hello everyone I was just provided the opportunity to bid on a job to remove 18 acres of trees in the pine barrens in Long Island. It isn't a total land clearing but more of a culling. The removals consist of pitch pines and some hard woods such as various species of oaks. The trees range from 45ft to 60ft depending on the area of the 18 acres they are located. The dbh ranges from 8-20".

Long story short I am looking for any information on anyone or any companies who would be interested in the wood pulp that will be produced out of this job. Any assistance would be greatly appreciate so I can formulate my bid accordingly. On Long Island wood harvesting and jobs of this nature are not common at all so I'm just trying to wrap my head around it.

Thank you

Ps any point of views from companies who conduct this sort of work would be appreciated.

Get a big chipper and leave them with a big pile of chips. Low grade timber market is flooded where there is a market youll likely have way more investested in trucking to get this wood to market then it would ever be worth.

have 2 chippers that would do the job. But all debris has to be carted off premises. I just don't want to pay to get rid of the debris. How about if I didn't want anything for the wood. Just take it for free? Market for that?

I agree with timber jack. Costs to get the stuff off the island would be outrageous, even if you have it away.

Yea we have a whole folder of different dumps. The problem is the volume of chips coming out is endless lol. Might buy a small property and rob the top soil and dump all the chips there

Are the trees all healthy and disease/pest free? The post says out of state so I would also recommend nothing would be transported that could spread something. Just a thought
