favorite handsaw

Deff the silky zubat. I trim alot of hardwoods and the zubat just eats right throught it. The only prob i had was the plastic scabbard didnt last the cold winter!

The first saws i used were Fanno bought by my cheap company. After katrina i decided to do the corps work, the first saw i bought for myself was a Silky Ibuki and ive never bought anything since. Whats the difference between Ibuki and the zubat? The reason i like the Ibuki is i can sharpen it.

Zubat for me ! Although thinking of trying a silky with a straight blade something with larger teeth for removals and larger limbs, what would be the best?
Just tried to wear the Zubat on my leg with a weaver scabbard didn't like it one bit. So back to the saddle it went!

The Natanako has a straight blade and big teeth. It might be what you are looking for.

Sugoi here. If u can stand the size the sugoi will save u hundreds of strokes a day. i like to take long strokes! that how i roll!

Blinky, your still going to need a scabbard to use the saw pod.

The saw pod makes any handsaw capable of being turned into a leg saw. That's about it. I do suggest ya buy it though

What do you use for a scabbard on your Zubat pole saw? I quickly lost the little piece that the scabbard is suppose to clip into. Nothing to hold it to the head.

Actually, when you add the HookFox (aftermarket hook), the plastic thingy no longer fits anyway. And since I feel the hook is necessary, I use a mini-bungee cord permanently hooked to the scabbard, and loop it around the hook. So far so good.

Notice the Face after my comment....i just like poking fun...

I also agree with the scabbard...mine has started to tear where you pull it out but since i put it on my leg strap and have a clear angle to take it in and out my tear hasn't been increasing.

Silky for normal pruning work, Sugoi for heavier work when I do not want my chain saw, and a Ginga for smaller work, like fruit trees/japanese maples etc..

3 different size Zubat pole saws and one Hayuchi. I hate the Haychi, but it can save you lots of time...

I get about 2 months from a zubat blade. I like them SHARP! I feel they take a few hours of using to break in... they are almost too sharp out of the box.

Before Silky, I was using Fannos and straight ARS blades.
