falling challenge big tulip through deck

In the essence of trying to develop a plan to fell the tree in the originally described method (although the consensus is entirely to just conventionally climb and rig it), id bring up Daniels video of him launching a lightning struck pine top some 20' iirc over a hedge using a pretensioned line. As the tree swings through its arc while falling, it will want to rotate about its center of gravity, which will be perhaps a third to half way between where the felling cut is made, and the crown, (rough assumption having not seen the actual crown spread in person, and dependent if done with no foliage or in full leaf out as would be the case if it were done today). So speaking from the physics side of things, the minimal horizontal displacement to get the butt to shift to clear the deck railing wouldn't be tremendous by any means. If I had to set a configuration to take that tree down in the original method posted, Id set a line in one of the trees in the rear of the deck, through a pulley, most likely anchored by a screamer or a "less than suitable sling." A little thought on the geometry on how high to place the block to assure good clearance with the swing accompanied with the cut placed at the right point, pretension the whole system, and as the cut is made, chase the hinge so as the piece is nearing horizontal, it is severed from the stump and is free to move. At that point, the pretension will start the movement of the butt away from the deck, and it will swing to plumb under the 'rigging point.' I mentioned incorporating a screamer or "unsuitable sing" for the fact as that butt comes to rest almost entirely in the line, that will be a tremendous dynamic load, and we would then be concerned with snapping the top out of the tree, or the whole tree toppling over. Having a screamer in the system, or a sling that you know will fail, will essentially allow the butt to detach from the tree and come to rest on the ground. Judging by the distance from the rear trees to the deck, it might have the swing to also move that butt past the septic that was mentioned as well, thus coming to rest at the base of the tree that was rigged from.

This of course is just all in theory as one would need to assure essentially no tip contact with other trees that would want to push the butt backwards rather than sideways once it leaves the stump, but in the world of geometry and physics, and with a little luck, one wouldnt say that its 'impossible.'

Luck. In treework is one variable that I do not depend upon. To be honest I do not even consider it in everyday life.
correct swing-

which is why i established that this was by no means the preferred-or even a reasonable option, but rather just looking at it as an "out of this world" rigging scenario to pick the brain and see what could be managed with what we all would have in inventory for equipment.

i do believe in L.U.C.K. (Labor Under Controlled Knowledge);
and the more i practice, the luckier i seem to get.
i also beleive Google showed how data can be king, and am constantly observing, taking in that data of how things play out even if not for this time; for the future; and as cross-verification or contrary to present KB(knowledge Base). Truly, truly the more you know, the more you see, like tracker thru the woods that are screaming clues others don't see as well. Inconsistencies to sorted as soon as can to smooth back to consistent , contiguous KB set of cross-verifying as 'parity check' against it's own self.
.
i do think that the Controlled Knowledge contains care and control of the CoG thru geometry as inputs to/against CoG. Would always start with pick brain as to available options to narrow field from infinite, then choose most realistic from that set.
.
To include, what can be done with scenario in best wood, most screeching geometry, then limit within that geometry etc. by other factors; like tools/crew, species, condition, risk, probability etc. But always looking at full range, even as if mental exercise puzzle; then trim from there to chosen strategy within those limits. Just as may calc full potential force as limits other than infinity, then subtract friction etc.

does anyone know where I can buy the Wolf Claw Spurs, I have been checking on line, but have not seen a reseller. NEW or USED
I bought mine from Baily’s almost 15 yrs ago.Three yrs ago I bought new pads straps and gaffs for them.They are really comfy on big spars with a big saw for extended periods of time,they are also very fast to put on!Down side is they are heavy and cumbersome and restrict your movement somewhat in canopy.
