Exposing hacks

Now that's being a dick. I draw a line. :)
Agreed and like I said at some risk. There does come a point, where a business owner is putting workers at risk without regard then it may come down to doing just that. One fellow I worked for many years ago, had a competitor who hired kids with no experience then with no PPE he'd have them doing all sorts of stupidity. Working buckets inside MAD where primaries were easily contacted. He had spoken to him about it and was just shrugged off.

There was a particular situation that these kids were working in along side a roadway without any cones, signs or flags, primaries encroaching on the tree, etc..., he cracked and called OHSA.

Don't do it to gain a competitive advantage. Do it to protect some potential victims of another's greed.

That only time i ever called osha was to protect the workers. They were not provided with ppe and i watched in horror as the climber almost got killed when they lost control of a top and it came down on top of him. made the call and 2 hours later they all had new ppe

OK, so check this out. I swear Im not making this up. About a two months ago I saw a local hack tree company working along side a busy roadway taking down a decent sized cottonwood in a trailer park. There is a cinderblock wall around the perimeter of this fairly classy senior citizens trailer park. They are set up on the outside of the perimeter wall between it and a busy street with their 55ft bucket truck. No cones, no flaggers, and the clown that was flying the bucket was sporting the cool guy no shirt and no hat look. I was like, "WHAT THE FRENCH TOAST???" (I actually do say that sometimes.) Any who, that was one of those Not my monkeys, not my circus moments.

So, This morning I get a call from a guy that I sub for alot asking if today would be a good day to start a big trailer park job. Guess what I did today? I took down 2 of the 11 big cottonwoods that are coming out of that trailer park. The hacks I saw a month earlier got fired after that first tree I saw them playing in. I couldnt resist taking a break at lunch and walking over to do a little crime scene investigation. The cap stone on the stone wall was smashed all to hell and the stump was halfway ground out, but that was it.
I really resent these clowns and am always talking smack about them, but right now Im laugh, laugh, laughing my ass all the way to the bank!!!:risas2::risas2::risas2:

I dont know what these guys did to get fired, but I do this. With the money that they would have made off this job, they could have afforded to buy a half way decent chipper. Instead, they are going to have to keep hauling brush in a trailer.:risas2::risas2::risas2:

My name's not Earl, but I do believe in Karma. All things will unfold the way they are Supposed to unfold. Its not always the way I want, or when I want, but its the way its gonna unfold none the less.

Your experiment sounds like a great learning tool for commercial arborist associations to use as a tool to identify the short falls, and the hacks in a given area.
It sounds like a horrible idea for a business owner to use against their competition. Your companies work and your sales efforts will, or should provide a good living if done with a concentrated and ethical effort from you and all of your employees.
This type of thing would not provide you with any new friends, this I guarantee!
