Eucman

Bad ass Ben. Looked like a windy day. I love windy days in a tree. Your editing skills and the effects are getting better with each vid I see from you. Very well done . :tanguero:

Such beautiful trees, they look like fun to climb
My favourite Euc's Macswan are River reds both for sheer pleasure when climbing for Rec purpose's or a jolly old deadwood and prune job. The real shame is that they are a wonderful tree to remove as well, compared to other common Euc's like sugar gum or spotted gum or my least liked the lemon scented which usually is a outright mongrel.
and again thank you for watching :tanguero:

What of the wood? Does it get cold enough there to heat?
okay thats a fair question - Adelaide is in South Australia and so a lot closer to the antarctic weather than most of the rest of Oz. tis a temperate climate, mediterranian in summer and in our mind fookin cold in winter which is not really true as compared to say Tasmania which is actually cold with regular snowfall during winter. think cali.
:descansando:

Redgum as fire wood is the most expensive to purchase because it burns clean and long with excellent heat properties currently selling at 350 au per ton plus delivery costs. so $275 US. there is better burning euc but is a total pain to split due to the unique grain and timber type :tonto:

Nice use of the one hand and two hand technique there too!
cheers? I don't want to start another shooting gallery :boxeador: but I one hand my ms460 and ms660 on occasion and while I DO not recommend this practice to anybody else here that is how I work so Thankyou for the compliment (y)
(Dave the stihl mechanic keeps insisting "a 460 is not a climbing saw Ben")...I just smile and nod.
Ben.

Word!

I regularly climb with my 372xp's , on occasion I have climbed with my 395xp. Good size eastern cotton woods and white pines. I still use the top handles all the time, but it kills me so to watch another climber using/wasting time with a tiny top handle on big wood.

I know another local climber, a take down master if you will. He only climbs with spikes and does not even own a top handle. Climbs with a 346xp or 372xp, some times the 395xp....believe the 346xp is one of the highest power to weight saws. I love one handing the 346xp with the trio brake...it's like it was made for one handing
Steve

biggest saw I have used aloft is a ms88 with a five foot bar - I weigh 65 kg, wonder what that assembly comes in at?
have used a 395xp with 3 ft bar (it is a friends) and wasn't too bad :nocausagracia:
The force is strong with this one . I'm certain he won't succumb to the dark side. His name won't allow it!
