I work on some environmentally sensitive areas/nature preserves etc.
Any one with recommendations for enviro friendly hydraulic oil for use in mini loaders.
Any experience with enviro oil in freezing temps is appreciated.
Thanks

I applaud your desire to be environmentally friendly, but your question raises a question for me. Hydraulics are closed systems. If they're losing fluid, then it would seem that the machine has a repair/maintenance issue. If everything on the machine is well maintained, then it ought not to matter what kind of fluid is in that closed system. Am I missing something?

My first question would be does it void your warranty, if you still have one. If so then the manufacturer may have a brand they will accept.

From the manufacturer. At the factory we use an ISO 32 hydraulic oil

all year. I spoke to our Service Manager and he advised that if you will be

running the unit in winter this ISO 32 oil can still work as long as the

unit is stored in a heated garage or kept warm in some way. If the unit is

stored outside through winter you will want to use a lighter oil or install

some sort of oil pan heater to warm up the fluid before use to avoid

damaging the system.
