Emergency Crews Rescue Stranded Tree Trimmer

RICHMOND, VA -- A tree trimmer was left dangling from a mammoth tree earlier this month after he suffered a leg injury. First responders arrived in the 4800 block of Bonnie Brae Road on Oct. 8 around 5:20 p.m. after receiving a call about the injured man who was stuck about 40 feet up in the tree. They urged the man to hold on as they quickly assessed the situation. Cut tree branches were sprawling across the yard and into the driveway of the residence making access difficult. Rescuers raised an aerial ladder, and then carefully placed the man on the platform section of the ladder. He was lowered to the ground, placed on a stretcher and then transported to a local hospital. Officials have not released his condition or name. Personnel from Dale, Chester, Dutch Gap and Bensley fire and EMS stations responded. http://www.chesterfieldobserver.com/news...ee_trimmer.html
