This tool looks like it falls into the same nice as a GriGRi and Cinch. The ability to lock off if the rapell/belay lever is pulled to for looks like that feature of an I'd and some other descenders.

Has anyone seen this tool and used it? There is no hope for me to see this for a while. Not climbing stores in the area. The tallest places around here are bridges ha ha ha!

It doesn't have the curled over lip on the side of where the rope exits the device that allows an ID or Grigri to be used as a descender as opposed to a belay device only. Looking at it more closely it does have a curved edge but the radius is not great.

What do you think? I don't see anything in the spec literature that indicates it's intended for anything other than belay. Nice looking design and the anti-panic lever is a plus over the Grigri which it otherwise seems very similar to.

Aha! I found a mention in one sentence how to use it for abseiling.

I like the looks of it. I wonder if the green handle is made of plastic or metal. Any one have a clue?

But, for a compact belay device, I do not think it is worth $159 dollars.

The handle is metal.

I got one a few weeks ago and used it when I was in Colorado for the Rendezvous. The performance is NICE!!!

When I have time I'll get pics...probably not until I'm done with the contract that I'm working. Seven day weeks and 12 hour days doesn't leave much Tom-Time.

I'm bringing Eddy along to Sweden for the SRT workshops so I know that I'll get pics there.
