Echo2511 vs echo271

Does anyone know why the echo 271 is near $40 less than the 2511. The 271 is 1.9 cc stronger and weighs around 2 lbs more. $342 for the 271 and $379 for the 2511 at home depot.im fixin to buy one or the other to replace my stihl 09 dinosaur but curious as to why i can get more power for less and they look identical.

I posted this in another thread, but here it is again:

2511 on the right, 355 on left. I know it’s not a 271, just wanted to emphasize how insanely small the 2511 is. The 355 feels absurdly heavy compared to it.

For my money I’d take the 2511 every time. It’s a pro saw, good design, roughly the same power and less weight. Only two cons I can think of: it’s coldblooded (hard to start in the cold) and there’s a lot of plastic in the construction to save weight. Probably not gonna survive a bad drop as well as some more solid saws.

I keep hearing excellent things about the 355 and the 2511. I think Echo gets my money next time I buy a top handle.
A 6 lb chainsaw boggles the mind. I could probably stop carrying the Silky.

Word on the street is Husky is coming out with a new baby top handle to compete with the echo 2511t and stihl 150. I guess they are already available in Europe.

27cc and 6#s for the Husky vs 25cc and 5#s for the echo. Be fun to see how they compare. The echo 2511 already stihls the 150's lunch

If price is an issue, buy it during echo dealer days. Both my 271 and 2511 were 20% off... x2 on buying the 2511. It is amazing. The 271 is fine - no problems over the 3 years I've owned it, but nothing exciting about it. Btw, maybe use another metric besides cc to evaluate power when the ccs are so similar...
