Echo rear handle recommendation

I have a 590 I was given blown up for literally nothing and rebuilt it with a piston and cylinder from a 620, also Muffler modded and tuned the carb at the same time (no porting or timing advance though). She runs a 24" full comp without issue but I typically leave a 20" on it for ground cleanup. Sometimes it's even served as my bucket saw. Love it.
Obviously I wouldn't recommend buying a 590 new to take apart and mod but the 620 is a great saw for your intended use.

Mines super easy to start, not too heavy and even with hollow Muffler isn't to loud, just wish the air filtering was better, the filter is full every other day.

So a few weeks ago I settled on the 590 timber wolf that came with a 20" bar with chain and 3 extra chains for 427$ after tax. My dealer didn't have the 501p or I would got that. They did have the 620p with a 20" for about another 100$ and then a 800 with 24" for 600 something.
I almost took the 620 but I decided to save and they told me the 590 has same motor and bar and chain. 590 has a plastic crank case and handle while the 620 has magnesium crank case and aluminum handle.
Both were rated at the same power with the 590 almost a pound lighter. I have done some fire wood and notched a few stalks and it fills my needs on the ground though it is a little heavier than I want up in the tree but I mostly use bigger saws in tree at work. This is just my side jobs and I did block some wood down with it and felt just fine hanging off my TM. ty so much for the help guys.

Reading your post kinda reminds me that I think the dealer told me a similar story about how he had a friend that took parts from a 620p and put them on a 590. Hard to remember exactly.
I can't complain yet but I haven't put it through any real hardwoods or long days but ive burried the bar in some thick firewood and a CPL big notches and it hasn't got tired yet.

Same cc but 590 has 3.89 hp, 620 has 4.5 hp. Small differences in carbs and mufflers and probably other stuff too. Don’t know about which bar you got, echo does have two grades with the 590 getting the basic laminated and 620 their pro one (can’t remember who makes them). I blew up a few bars on a 590 and so far pleased with the 20” pro one, better oiler port etc. 590 is a crazy good deal for the power, heavy but good torque.

They said it's the same bar an chain and it looked like it but mine actually has timber wolf wrote on it...that's funny about the HP bc their catalog didn't list those hp numbers

Where can I find a carb for a 620p to put in my 590...my 590 has the same bar and chain on it I bought it with, so maybe 5 or so hours of firewood and notched a CPL trees with it. Only owned it a year so it's under warranty still.
It's been sounding really weird so I wanted them to tune it and the chain tensioner broke so I brought it to the shop to have them fix the tensioner and tune it.
Instead they do a tune up that their now charging me for, mind you I told them to call me if anything would cost money before doing it. So they already did a tune up they want 62$ for and they tell me it needs a new carb and they ask me for the green light to order the new carb and install it for 190$...
I ask why the carb is not covered by the warranty and they say it's bc the carb didn't fail it's just not good. That they would cover it if it failed but strongly urge me to let them put the new carb in and I pay for it!!!
I can't believe these guys. I'm feeling like saying nope take out the tune up parts bc I can do that myself and I'll take it home and make the carb fail so it's covered...like wtf man.
It did not need a tune up but I'll probably pay it bc I'm not that type of aashole but I'm pretty sure I'm done with that shop.
I know another echo dealer about an hour away and I know those guys are the real deal and do good work. I think I'm gonna call them and tell them about this to see what they would do.
I'm feeling like I'm being hustled here and I'm getting mad.
So any input or suggestions would be appreciated.

Check out http://www.sawagain.com/
I bought a bunch of echo parts from them.
You can get a carb rebuild kt for cheap on ebay and fix it yourself.
If your run ethanol fuel than it's most likely buildup or a dried out diagram.
Get some carb cleaner and some cleaning brushes and give it a go.
They are not difficult to work on and there are tons of vids on youtube to help you along.

The carb on a 620P is a HDA-316 Walbro. SawAgain has it.

I agree with @dsptech, if it ran good (or at least good enough) with the stock semi-fixed H jet carb, I would clean and rebuild the original carb before I dropped ~$90 on a HDA-316.

You could always add an unlimited coil if you add the better carb. See the following:

A friend I occasionally work with is a big Echo fan. I really like the CS-800 he’s got. A bit more grunt than my MS-441, a bit less than my MS-650. A very capable bigger saw, he’s got a 28” on it, but if the oiler is adequate I’m sure it can do more.

The CS-590 feels like it’s going to break, but it hasn’t. Just feels like light plastic. Runs and cuts just fine though, and is ridiculously easy to start.

I’d love to try a CS-620P sometime, I’m a big fan of 60cc class professional grade saws.

The 620p is a solid saw, very good torque and starts like an echo. It is heavy, iirc about the same as a 462. I got mine on sale for less than $500 and it has been dead reliable. 20” for hardwood like a champ and 24” lightweight Tsumura full skip on softwood. With the 24 it is dead level on its side.

Always rans ethanol free fuel I'm my saws and always mixed it myself so I feel it's echos issue to fix
